Helena Township Board Meeting February 9^th, 2023

Meeting called to order at 7:02 PM.  Members present were Butch Peeples, David Peterson, and Bonnie Robbins with Cathy Rice and Butch Bartz absent.  Motion by Robbins to approve the agenda and supported by Peterson and approved.  Motion by Robbins to approve the January’s meeting minutes and supported by Peterson and approved.

Conflict of Interest: None          

 Public Comment: Anna Hannon and Ruth Smith commented on pickleball.

Treasurer’s Report: beginning balance January 1^st, 2023 is $607,049.77

Total receipts: $139,121.29 and total disbursements: $22,565.78

Ending balance January 31; 2023 is $723,605.28

Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by Robbins and supported by Peterson and approved.

Presentation of Bills: January 1-31, $9900.88, February 1-9th; $4113.02

Fire Chief/Sheriff Report:  Paul Fabiano reviewed report for STLFD.

Speakers: None

Communications: County commissioner Terry VanAlstine not present. County commissioner report received by email and will be put on website.

Zoning: Reviewed Bob Logee’s zoning report.  Board of Review meeting March 7^th oath of office scheduled.

Planning Commission: Robbins gave report.

Parks & Rec: Meeting scheduled for 02/02/2023 cancelled.  The two Sparks grants not funded.

Roads: No report

Old Business:

New Business: Great Lakes Energy’s True Stream; for broadband in Helena Township, letter of support, motion by Robbins with support by Peterson and motion carried.

Announcements:  None

Additional Public Comment:  Robbins commented on pickleball.  Jim Gurr commented.

Robbins made the motion to pay the bills and supported by Peterson and approved and motion carried.
