Meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by Supervisor Rick Teague. Present: Catherine Rice, Rick Teague, Bonnie Robbins, David Peterson. Butch Bartz absent. Motion to approve agenda by Robbins supported by Rice.
Conflict of Interest: None.
Public Comment: Sheriff Dan Bean gave June’s report. Resident complained about needed maintenance on the unpaved portion of McPherson road.
Approval of Minutes: Motion by Robbins, supported by Rice and motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Beginning balance: $393,926.16
Receipts: $16,911.01
Disbursed: $34,218.70
Balance: $376,618.47
Motion to approve Treasurer’s report by Teague, supported by Robbins and motion carried.
Presentation of Bills: June1-30: $24,755.60; and July 14th; $12,948.89
Speakers: None
Communications: Received and reviewed letter from resident concerned about neighbor’s outdoor lighting and interest in any applicable zoning requirements.
Zoning: June report given by Guy Molby.
Planning Commission: Robbins reported that Planning Commission is reviewing electronic/illuminated signs and reviewing permitted by right and special use language. Public hearing on the changes may be scheduled in September.
Ambulance Authority: No update.
Parks & Rec: Ruth Smith reported that tennis courts were powered washed (by her) and new net posts installed. Resurfacing to begin end of July or beginning of August. Parks and Rec starting to review 5 year plan.
Peterson presented board with costs for three new signs at Coy Mtn. Rice made the motion for the purchase of three signs at Coy Mtn. at a cost of $406.32 with support by Teague and the motion carried.
Roads: No report.
Old Business: Teague reviewed street light proposal with the board. Treasurer proposes to borrow $160,000.00 from the bank. The PTAF fees collected each July are $43,000.00 and those monies could be used to repay the loan each year. Teague made the motion that the township treasurer, Cathy Rice, negotiate a loan from the Alden State Bank for $160,000.00 and the interest rate. The supervisor and treasurer will meet with the bank to negotiate the terms of the loan and the repayment plan supported by Robbins and motion carried.
The final budget for 2016-2017 fiscal year was approved.
